Olá queridos alunos, aqui uma listinha com alguns exemplos de phrasal verbs e como utilizá-los!
Phrasal verbs are verb phrases made up of a main verb and one or more particles that modify the main verb’s meaning, such as up, out, off, and in.
Phrasal verbs são frases verbais compostas de um verbo principal e uma ou mais partes que modificam o significado do verbo principal, como up, out, off e in.
There are hundreds of phrasal verbs, but don’t worry. Keep studying!
Existem centenas de phrasal verbs, mas não se preocupe. Continue a estudar!
- Tiago needs to clean up his house before his wife comes home. (Phrasal verb: clean up, meaning: tidy or organize)
- Preciso limpar a case antes que a esposa dele volte para casa.
- Ms. Bishoff asked us to hand in our homework by Friday. (Phrasal verb: hand in, meaning: submit)
- A Sra. Bishoff (a professora Bishoff) pediu para entregarmos nossas tarefas até sexta-feira.
- I ran into my cousin Marcos at the shopping mall last Saturday. (Phrasal verb: run into, meaning: meet unexpectedly)
- Encontrei por acaso um primo Marcos no shopping no último sábado.
- My neighbors were so noisy that the condominium union had to tell them: move out of here! (Phrasal verb: move out, meaning: relocate).
- Meus vizinhos eram tao barulhentos que a sindica do condominio precisou dizer to them: mudem-se daqui!
- Tiago always puts off studying until the last minute. (Phrasal verb: put off, meaning: delay or procrastinate)
- Tiago sempre adia o estudo até o último minuto.
