• According to Encyclopedia Britannica: Much of the Bible’s New Testament was originally written in Greek. In that language, Christ begins with the letter chi, which appears very similar to English’s letter x. This is originally why Christmas was abbreviated Xmas.
• De acordo com a Encyclopedia Britannica: Grande parte do Novo Testamento da Bíblia foi originalmente escrita em grego. Nesse idioma, Cristo começa com a letra chi, que se parece muito com a letra x do inglês. É originalmente por isso que o Natal foi abreviado Natal.
